Traditional British Breakfast
Happy Father’s Day!!! I would like to wish all fathers a Happy Father’s Day today, especially my Dad!!! Dad, I am so glad and thankful that you are my father… you really are the best dad a girl could have!! Thank you for all you do!! :-)
This morning for Father’s Day we made my dad a Traditional British Breakfast, which I wanted to share with you. My little sister Laura studied abroad in London last summer and came back and made this for us and we all loved it! It consists of British breakfast beans, “poached” eggs, baked tomatoes, stewed mushrooms, and bacon. We also served some Arabic biscuits with our meal, since my Dad likes those, even though they do not go with the British theme!
This breakfast is actually really easy to make, it just has a lot of components! For the breakfast beans, we just buy Heinz Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce, which you can buy at Wegmans or on Amazon. These are just some beans in a light tomato sauce. I thought this was so weird when she brought them home, but they are actually quite delicious! For the eggs, we actually ran out of burners on our stove, so to “poach” them, we baked them in a cupcake pan. They came out beautifully! The tomatoes and mushrooms are simple recipes that I will share and are super easy to make!
