Pineapple Cilantro Protein Smoothie
Hello everyone!! This weekend I took an awesome trip to Rochester and had a great time catching up with some old friends. I went to my friend Anna’s bridal shower and was able to catch up with a lot of my college friends. It was so great to catch up with you girls!! :-)
I also met up with one of my good friends from high school, Neil, and we went to the original Wegmans!!! I was in heaven!! It is the biggest most amazing grocery store I have ever been to!! While we were there, I tried some Dim Sum (delicious) and some green juice, made fresh at the store. It was a mixture of fruits and veggies, like green apples, celery, and wheat grass. It was pretty yummy as well!
Today I want to share with you a recipe for another green drink. A Pineapple Cilantro Protein Smoothie! I like to make smoothies, as they are easy and refreshing, especially in the summer. Protein smoothies are really great when you are on the run too! I like to take them as a breakfast or lunch to go! This is a very tropical tasting smoothie, which is also very healthy! Pineapple has lots of natural enzymes, and did you know that Cilantro works as a natural antibiotic?! It’s a pretty cool herb! Anyways, here is the recipe!
Ingredients:
- 2 (1/2″ thick) slices of fresh pineapple, cut into chunks
- 1 handful of fresh cilantro (you can add more or less to taste)
- 1/4 of an avocado, frozen
- 3 Tbsp hemp protein powder (I use Navitas Naturals Hemp Protein Powder)
- 1/3 cup cold water (to help with blending, add more as needed)
- 3 ice cubes
Instructions:
Pop everything into the blender, and blend until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy with a straw! Yum!
