    Mom’s Sweet Potatoes

Hi Everyone!!! I hope you all had a great week last week…. last week was a little hard for me because it was my first week back from a great vacation! It is always hard to go back to work and reality after a vacation!  While I was on vacation, I got to go wine tasting, and have high tea, (which I will tell you about in a later post!) and I got to visit some of my college friends in Long Island.  I even got to go to the beach, which is like heaven for me! :-) Anyways… I did try to make a healthy coconut panna cotta for…

    Baked Liver and Onions

Okay… I know some of you are probably thinking… Sarah has gone crazy… this is DISGUSTING!  But I have to tell you… it is totally NOT!  It is really delicious, and super healthy and nutritious!  REALLY… I promise!!  Honestly, I like liver to begin with, but I think that cooked this way, it is palatable, even to someone, who is not thrilled about liver.  If you are still not convinced, please consider the following information about liver: Liver is densely nutritious (practically a super food!) and is high in Protein, Vitamin A, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Phosphorus, Copper and Selenium [1]. Happy Belated Independence Day Everyone!!! I hope that you all had a good fourth yesterday, I know I certainly did!  We had a big cook out with all of my family and some friends… it was a great time!  I got to go swimming with my dog again and she loved it!! She must have swam with us for a half an hour non-stop!! It was so cute; I wish I had a picture to share with you all!  My sister Laura also taught a yoga class in our backyard!  It was so calming and nice doing yoga outside in a natural setting!  Additionally, I made Paula Deen’s peach cobbler…

    Authentic Syrian Hummus

TGIF everyone!!!!!!  I am soooooooo glad that it is the weekend!!  Today I am going to share with you my family recipe for hummus.  My Dad’s side of the family is Syrian, so you can trust that I know what I am talking about when it comes to Middle Eastern Food! I know that hummus has become a bit of a craze lately, and all the hype is right.  It is pretty healthy, and really delicious!  But, there are a couple of things that annoy me about the craze.  Firstly, everyone pronounces it “hum-mis”, and this is totally wrong!  It really should be pronounced “hom-mous”!!  The next thing, is all…
