Easy Brownies on the Stove

Hello everyone!  Today I am going to share with you a wonderfully easy recipe for scratch brownies, that is actually made on the stove.  I have used this recipe for a long time and it is always a huge hit.  Many people have asked me for the recipe and have also told me they are the best brownies they have ever had.  These brownies are just as easy to make as a box mix, but they are more delicious and healthier.  Additionally, you only have to clean 1 pot!  I line the baking dish with parchment paper, and the cleanup is a cinch!

This luscious brownie recipe is always a hit and it is made on the stove!

Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 35 minutes
Total Time 55 minutes

Ingredients

  • 12 Tbsp Salted Butter
  • 1 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2/3 cup Cocoa Powder (I recommend Trader Joe’s brand.)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (Use a high quality brand like Ghirardelli or Trader Joe’s)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350F and line a 9in x 9in baking dish with parchment paper. Melt the butter in a medium sized pot. Once the butter is melted add in the sugar and vanilla and whisk well. Next, whisk in the cocoa powder. Removed the pot from the heat and let it set for about a minute. Whisk in the eggs one at a time. I recommend adding a bit of batter to each egg in a small dish and whisking together before adding into the pot. This will temper the egg and prevent you from making scrambled eggs in your brownies. Next stir in the flour with a spatula or spoon. Do not over mix. Lastly, stir in the chocolate chips and pour the batter into the baking dish. Bake for 35 minutes. Let the brownies cool and enjoy! I recommend pairing with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yum!

Notes

Variations:

You could use walnuts or peanut butter chips instead of the chocolate chips.
