Mini Pavlovas
Have you ever heard of a Pavlova before? If not, you are missing out. This is a crispy, airy, light, delicious dessert! Apparently it is a traditional Australian dessert named after Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. Basically, it is a crispy meringue topped with whipped cream and fruit. I made it for a gathering that I had at my house and it was a huge hit. I have made a large single Pavlova before, but this time I decided to make individual Mini Pavlovas and it was much easier to eat and less messy! I hope you all will enjoy this recipe as much as I do!
Mini Pavlovas
This is an easy recipe for individual mini pavlovas.
Ingredients
- 6 egg whites
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 Tbsp corn starch
- 1 pint heavy whipping cream
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- sliced kiwi, blueberry, and strawberries for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 220F.
- Place the egg whites, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl and beat until stiff peaks form and it is light and poofy like a meringue.
- Lay parchment paper on two large cookie sheets.
- Spoon out 9 round 4" circles of the egg white mixture, making sure they are flat and that there is a slight depression in the middle of each circle, which will hold the whipped cream and fruit.
- Bake for an hour until the pavlovas are hard on the outside.
- Turn off the oven and let the pavlovas sit in the oven with the door open for approximately 30 minutes.
- Take the pavlovas out and let them cool completely before moving on to the next step.
- To make whipped cream combine the heavy cream and sugar and beat on high for several minutes until it forms stiff peaks, or a little less if you like a looser whipped cream.
- Fill each pavlova with whiped cream and decorate with the sliced fruit as desired.
- Enjoy!
Notes
You really can use any type of fruit for the topping, whatever is in season!
